For nearly two years, they sold their signature Italian water ice flavors (lemon, cherry and blueberry) out of the same place they lived. The old college buddies started their business with an old ice cream machine and a chest freezer and a rented a 400-square-foot house with a carport for a storefront. PhillySwirl co-founders, and Penn State grads, Alex Plotkin and Max Lapin quit law school to sell Italian water ice in Florida.
